Manasota Beach Park Fishing

6.5· Beach · Englewood, FL

Free: No fee listed for the park or boat ramp (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Manasota Beach Park sits on Manasota Key west of Englewood, a Sarasota County park that reaches the Gulf beach on one side and Lemon Bay on the other. The Gulf side is part of the Venice-to-Manasota stretch known for land-based shark fishing in summer, with blacktips and other sharks on cut bait, plus snook in the trough at first light and pompano and whiting from late fall to spring. The bay side, with the park's free boat ramp and kayak access, gives sheltered water for trout, redfish and snook around the mangroves. The county lists restrooms, picnic shelters, grills and a lifeguard, so walk well clear of the guarded swimming area before you cast. County lots close to vehicles from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Watch for rip currents, stingrays and summer lightning.
