Service Club Park, Venice Fishing

Service Club Park is a small walk-on beach access in Venice, a little north of the busy pier. It is a calm place to try the surf, with the pier crowd a short walk away if you want company.

Venice beaches are better known for shark teeth than for catches, but the surf holds the usual Gulf species.

• Fall (Sep-Nov): the best surf bite as bait moves along the beach
