Ernest and Eloise Werlin Park Seawall, Sarasota Fishing

6.7· Seawall· Sarasota, FL

Ernest "Doc" and Eloise Werlin Park sits at 420 John Ringling Causeway, at the east end of the Ringling Bridge on Sarasota Bay, and Visit Sarasota's park listing says you can wet a line off the seawall with downtown views, or toss out under the bridge in the shade. The neighboring Tony Saprito Pier has been closed since Hurricane Milton, and the Hart's Landing bait shop was torn down in November 2025, so the fishing here is the seawall and the water around the bridge approach only. Anglers fish the bay edge and bridge shadows for snook, redfish, seatrout, jacks and tarpon, depending on the season, with live shrimp and bait on a moving tide. Traffic noise is constant overhead, and the causeway work continues, so check the city for any closures.
