Nora Patterson Bay Island Park, Siesta Key Fishing

6.2· Seawall· Sarasota, FL

Nora Patterson Bay Island Park is a small waterfront park beside the Siesta Drive bridge on the Sarasota Bay side of Siesta Key, where a seawall with fishing rails runs along the water. The county dedicated the rebuilt seawall, benches, rails and signs in 2015 and calls the park regularly used for recreational fishing. Anglers work the wall and the bridge shadows for snapper, sheepshead, redfish, snook and the odd trout, with jacks and ladyfish when bait schools pass. The city says the north side was closed after Hurricane Milton, so check what is open before you go. Use live shrimp on light tackle and fish the moving tide. Watch for bridge traffic, boat wakes and summer storms.
