Smyrna Dunes Park Fishing

7.3· Inlet · Ponce Inlet, FL

Fee to fish: Per-vehicle admission or annual pass required to enter park (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Smyrna Dunes Park fills the north tip of New Smyrna Beach on the south side of Ponce de Leon Inlet, with more than two miles of elevated boardwalk over the dunes to the inlet beach, the south jetty and the river shore. Anglers fish the inlet beach and the rocks near the jetty for redfish, black drum, sheepshead and flounder, the surf for whiting and pompano, and the inlet mouth for bluefish, Spanish mackerel, jacks and snook when bait runs. There is also a 300-foot accessible fishing pier on the river side. Moving tides fish best. You pay a per-vehicle admission to get in, or use the county's Inlet Park annual pass, and the hours shift with the seasons. Watch the fierce inlet current and summer lightning.
