Toronita Avenue Park Fishing

6.2· Beach · Ponce Inlet, FL

Free: No entry fee; visitors pay to park off the beach (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Toronita Avenue Park is a Volusia County beach park in Wilbur-by-the-Sea, the unincorporated strip between Daytona Beach Shores and Ponce Inlet. A signal-controlled crosswalk takes you from the park across A1A to the Toronita Avenue beach ramp, and cars are not allowed on this part of the sand, so you fish an open beach with no traffic behind you. Work the first trough with sand fleas, shrimp or clam for whiting through the year and pompano from late fall into spring; bluefish, jacks and redfish follow the fall mullet run, and Spanish mackerel show in the warm months. The tide rises and falls twice a day by roughly two to five feet. Visitors pay the county's daily off-beach parking fee unless registered as Volusia residents. Rip currents, summer lightning and surfers sharing the water are the main hazards.
