Port Orange Causeway Park Fishing

Port Orange Causeway Park is the City of Port Orange's big boat ramp park on the Halifax River, at the foot of the Dunlawton Bridge, and it has three fishing piers beside its seven ramps. The ramps and docks reopened in September 2026 after a city rebuild. The piers sit over moving water a few miles north of Ponce Inlet, where sheepshead, black drum and redfish work the pilings through the cooler months and snook, mangrove snapper and jacks take over in summer and fall. Fish shrimp, crab or cut mullet on the bottom near the structure, or a jig along the channel edge, on a moving tide. There are restrooms, covered pavilions, grills and a lot for cars and trailers; the city's page says only that the park stays lighted until dawn, so check the hours posted at the entrance. Boat traffic at the ramps is the main hazard.
