Biloxi Lighthouse Pier Fishing
Pier· Biloxi, MS
Closed to fishing
Closed since Hurricane Zeta wrecked it in 2020. The City of Biloxi plans a stronger rebuild and hopes to bid the work in 2026, once FEMA signs off on its design.
The Biloxi Lighthouse Pier, once called the Porter Avenue South Pier, stretches into the Mississippi Sound from Beach Boulevard at Porter Avenue, straight across US 90 from the Biloxi Lighthouse. It is closed: Hurricane Zeta left it unusable in 2020, and the City of Biloxi is working through FEMA approval and funding to rebuild it stronger, with concrete pilings, flow-through decking and a stone breakwater. When it was open, anglers caught ground mullet, redfish and speckled trout from its deck, with croaker, white trout and sheepshead around the pilings. Until it reopens, fish the Forrest Avenue Pier on the Back Bay a short drive north, the Coliseum Pier in west Biloxi, or the Point Cadet drive-on pier at the east end of town. Do not climb past the barriers onto the damaged structure.
