Oak Street South Pier Fishing

5.1· Pier· St. Martin, MS

The Oak Street South Pier is a City of Biloxi public pier of about 207 feet on the Mississippi Sound, at Oak Street and Beach Boulevard in east Biloxi, next to the Blind Tiger restaurant. The restaurant took on rebuilding the Katrina-wrecked pier for public use in 2017 with donated labor and materials, and small boats, jet skis, kayaks and paddleboards pull up to it, so it is as much a landing as a fishing pier. Anglers who fish it early, before the boats arrive, can expect speckled and white trout, croaker, sheepshead around the pilings and ground mullet off the sand nearby. Shrimp on a bottom rig or under a cork does most of the work. The Sound is shallow here, and wind decides the water level more than the small tide. Give boaters room and read the posted rules.
