Boggy Point Boat Launch Fishing

5.6· Harbor· Orange Beach, AL

Boggy Point Boat Launch is a state-run ramp at the end of Marina Road in Orange Beach, set on the busy channel just inside Perdido Pass where Bayou St. John meets the inlet, looking across to Bird Island. Marine Resources counts it among its public saltwater fishing access points, and the shoreline around the lot, away from the ramps, puts shore anglers on deep, moving water less than half a mile north of the Perdido Pass Bridge. Sheepshead and black drum feed along hard structure in the cooler months, redfish and speckled trout follow the tide through the channel, and flounder pass by in fall. Fish the moving tide, and fish away from the ramp lanes when boats are launching. The launch has restrooms, lights and about 30 parking spaces. Boat traffic here is heavy all day, so keep lines short and stay alert.
