Josephine Park Public Access is a small local park and boat ramp on Roberts Bayou in the community of Josephine, where the bayou opens into Arnica Bay on the Alabama side of Perdido Bay. Marine Resources lists it as a public saltwater fishing access, and it is a quiet, out-of-the-way place to fish calm water from the bank. The brackish water holds speckled trout and redfish, with flounder in fall, croaker and white trout through the warm months and black drum in winter, and the catch shifts with rain and wind. Fish the bayou mouth and the edges of the channel on a moving tide. There is a modest lot, two ramps and a courtesy dock, but no lights, and the state lists no restrooms. Give boaters the ramp and dock, and leave before dark.
