Perdido Key Beach Access 4 Fishing

6.1· Beach · Escambia County, FL

Free: No fee listed for this beach access (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Perdido Key Beach Access 4 is the westernmost of Escambia County's numbered public accesses on Perdido Key, a paved lot on the Gulf side of Perdido Key Drive a little over a mile west of Perdido Key State Park, with a boardwalk to a broad white beach. It is a straightforward surf spot: pompano and Gulf whiting on sand fleas and shrimp in spring and fall, Spanish mackerel, bluefish and ladyfish when bait runs the beach in the warm months, and redfish and black drum as the water cools. Tides here are slight, generally one rise and one fall a day, so fish the first hours of light and days with clean, moderate surf. The lot holds about 35 cars, with portable toilets and no fee listed. County code keeps water-access parks open to fishing at night. Rip currents and summer lightning are the hazards.
