West 10th Street Beach Access, Gulf Shores Fishing
6.2· Beach· Gulf Shores, AL
Free: Free to fish; metered street parking, free for residents with the city decal (checked Oct 17, 2026)
West 10th Street is a City of Gulf Shores beach access in the West Beach neighborhood, with metered street parking on the north side of West Beach Boulevard, a dune boardwalk, restrooms and showers. The city's beach map shows no lifeguard station here, which makes it one of the easier West Beach accesses for surf fishing in summer, though swimmers still use it. Gulf kingfish and pompano feed in the trough just off the sand through spring and fall, redfish turn up when the water cools, and summer brings Spanish mackerel, bluefish and ladyfish chasing bait. Calm, clear mornings on a moving tide fish best. Rip currents, stingrays and lightning storms are the risks, and all gear must be off the beach by an hour after sunset.
