Alligator Point Public Beach Access Fishing

6.4· Beach· Franklin County, FL

Alligator Point is the narrow beach peninsula at the eastern end of Franklin County, with the Gulf on one side and Alligator Harbor on the other, and its public beach accesses squeeze between houses along Alligator Drive. This one, beside the public parking and the boat ramp road, is a plain county access with a small parking area, no restrooms and no lifeguard, so it suits anglers who bring everything. Local tourism material calls the beach fishing superb, naming trout, redfish and pompano in spring through fall, with tarpon possible. Whiting and flounder fit the sandy bottom, and the harbor nursery nearby keeps redfish and trout close. Parking is tight, so come early. Watch for swimmers, summer lightning and the rips that follow a storm.
