Indian Pass Fishing

7.6· Inlet · Gulf County, FL

Free: Free entry and free parking at the boat ramp (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Indian Pass is the narrow, fast-flowing pass between the Indian Pass peninsula and St. Vincent Island, at the end of Indian Pass Road about eight miles from Port St. Joe, where the Gulf meets the bays behind St. Vincent. From the beach by the free public boat ramp, anglers fish the moving water for redfish, speckled trout, flounder, pompano and black drum, with Spanish mackerel, bluefish, sharks and tarpon passing in summer. Cast jigs or live shrimp along the current seams on the turn of the tide, and bottom rigs with crab or cut mullet for reds and drum. Parking at the ramp is free, and the ramp has restrooms but little else. Watch for strong currents, boat traffic in the pass, stingrays, and summer lightning.
