Robinson Preserve Fishing

6.8· Backwater · Cortez, FL

Robinson Preserve is a Manatee County coastal preserve of more than 600 acres in northwest Bradenton, where restored tidal creeks, mangroves and salt marsh open onto Palma Sola Bay, Perico Bayou and the Manatee River. The county lists fishing access here: shore anglers fish from the banks where it is allowed, and kayak anglers paddle more than three miles of internal blueway trails, for redfish, snook and spotted seatrout, with sheepshead, black drum and mangrove snapper around the mangrove edges and flounder on sandy bends. Fish the moving tide with live shrimp under a cork or a weedless soft plastic along the mangroves. The preserve is open sunrise to sunset every day, with restrooms, a kayak launch, observation towers and a canopy walkway; trail sections close for repairs from time to time in fall 2026. Watch for heat and mosquitoes, and do not wade.
