Haulover Inlet Fishing

7.5· Inlet · Bal Harbour, FL

Also called Bakers Haulover Cut

Free: No charge to enter; daily parking fee at the park (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Haulover Inlet (Bakers Haulover Cut) links north Biscayne Bay with the Atlantic between Haulover Park and Bal Harbour, and it is one of Miami-Dade's classic shore-fishing spots. Anglers fish from the county's designated areas along the cut on the Haulover Park side, where hard-running tides pull bait and predators through a narrow channel. Snook and tarpon are the headline fish, especially during the fall mullet run, with jacks, blue runners, mangrove snapper and winter bluefish and Spanish mackerel in support. The best fishing is usually around the tide changes, early and late in the day; the park is open sunrise to sunset and its parking lots close an hour before sunset. Parking carries a daily fee. The current is fierce, boat traffic through the cut is constant, and the rocks are slippery, so this is a spot for careful anglers.
