Haulover Park Intracoastal Shoreline Fishing

6.3· Seawall· Bal Harbour, FL

Haulover Park's bayside is the quieter side of the county park, where designated fishing areas run along the Intracoastal Waterway while the crowds stay on the ocean beach and the inlet. Snapper, jacks, ladyfish, sheepshead and seatrout work the shoreline, with snook and baby tarpon tucked into the shadows on warm nights, and the swift tide through the nearby cut keeps the water moving. Light spinning tackle, live shrimp and small pilchards do the job, and the park's bait and tackle shop at Bill Bird Marina is close. The park charges for parking, so check the hours posted at the gate. Do not fish in the swim zones or beside the marina, and watch for boat wakes and sun.
