Flamingo, Everglades National Park Fishing

Fee to fish: Everglades National Park per-vehicle entrance fee; extra charge for non-US residents (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Flamingo is the end of the road in Everglades National Park, 38 miles past the main entrance near Homestead, where the mainland meets Florida Bay. Shore fishing in the park is limited, and the Park Service lists the Flamingo campground shoreline as its one saltwater spot for bank anglers. You cast from a marl and mangrove shore by the campground amphitheater and along the Guy Bradley Trail onto shallow flats that hold spotted seatrout, redfish, snook, jacks, ladyfish and catfish. Tides rise and fall twice on most days, typically by about 2 ft, and the flooding tide pushes fish toward the bank. Expect an entrance fee, frozen bait at the marina store and a fish cleaning station. The hazards are crocodiles, fierce mosquitoes, summer lightning and patchy cell service far from help.
