Liza Jackson Park Fishing

5.9· Pier · Mary Esther, FL

Free: Free fishing pier (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Liza Jackson Park is a City of Fort Walton Beach park with about 1,000 feet of waterfront on Santa Rosa Sound, a free fishing pier, a boat ramp, pavilions and restrooms, on Miracle Strip Parkway about 2 miles west of the Brooks Bridge. The pier fishes for speckled trout, redfish and flounder on the grass edges, sheepshead on structure in spring, white trout in the cooler months, and Spanish mackerel, ladyfish and bluefish when bait pushes up the sound in summer. Fish live shrimp under a cork or small jigs on a moving tide, early and late. A renovation expected to take about six months began in mid-September 2026: the west side of the park, with the west entrance and the boat launch area, is closed and the east side stays open, so check access to the pier before you go. The park is open sunrise to 9 p.m.
