Blind Pass Jetty (Upham Beach) Fishing

Blind Pass Jetty is the rock jetty at the north end of St. Pete Beach, where Upham Beach meets Blind Pass, the narrow inlet to Treasure Island. Tide squeezing through the pass pulls bait past the rocks, so it is a strong snook spot in summer, with redfish, trout, sheepshead, snapper, flounder and Spanish mackerel through the year. Fish the moving tide early or late in the day, within the city's daylight beach hours, especially the outgoing. Upham Beach has pay-by-plate parking a short walk away. St. Pete Beach bans swimming and wading in Blind Pass, and Treasure Island, across the pass, bans shark fishing and chumming along its Blind Pass shore. Footing on the rocks is uneven, the pass current is strong and boats use the channel, so take care and keep clear of swimmers on the beach.
