Turtle Beach Park Fishing

6.6· Beach · Sarasota County, FL

Turtle Beach Park on the south end of Siesta Key gives you a quiet Gulf beach on one side and a mangrove lagoon on the other, with a fishing pier, shoreline fishing, a free boat ramp and a paddlecraft launch into Little Sarasota Bay. The lagoon side is good for snook, redfish, trout and jacks around the mangroves, and the Gulf side has snook in the trough in summer and pompano and whiting in the cooler months. Midnight Pass, reopened by the 2024 hurricanes, lies to the south, but Hurricane Milton washed out the beach walk to it, so today it is a paddle from the launch rather than a shore spot. It is a Sarasota County park, open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., with restrooms and a campground next door. Watch for stingrays, boat traffic at the ramp and summer lightning.
