Blind Creek Beach Fishing

6.2· Beach · St. Lucie County, FL

Free: Free entry and parking at this county preserve beach (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Blind Creek Beach is the quiet middle of South Hutchinson Island: a mile and a half of undeveloped, dune-backed shore in a 409-acre St. Lucie County preserve, just north of the St. Lucie nuclear plant property. Few people make the walk, which is why local anglers like it, and a nearshore reef forms a trough off the beach where bait and fish gather. Pompano, whiting and bluefish are the cool-season targets; the fall mullet run adds snook, jacks, tarpon and blacktip sharks. Entry and parking are free from sunrise to sunset. The county has designated the beach clothing-optional, with clothed visitors welcome, so follow the posted etiquette. There are no lifeguards and no lights, the dune paths are soft sand, and portable toilets stand in while new restrooms are built.
