River Park Marina, Port St. Lucie Fishing
6.7· Pier· Port St. Lucie, FL
River Park Marina is a 12-acre St. Lucie County island park on the North Fork of the St. Lucie River, just off Prima Vista Boulevard in Port St. Lucie, and its fishing piers are the draw for shore anglers. The North Fork is brackish and tidal, so the catch changes with the rainy season: snook, redfish and seatrout when the water holds some salt, with tarpon rolling in the warm months, and sheepshead, black drum and mangrove snapper around the pilings. Shore anglers on this river do best with live shrimp or mullet under a popping cork, and a bottom rig with shrimp covers the pilings. The park also has boat and kayak launches, a playground and a nature trail, so it suits a family outing. Watch for boat traffic at the ramp and for summer lightning.
