Apollo Beach Parking Area 3, Canaveral National Seashore Fishing
6.7· Beach· Oak Hill, FL
Parking Area 3 is one of the numbered beach accesses along the Apollo Beach road in the north district of Canaveral National Seashore, south of New Smyrna Beach. Local writers call it the most popular of the seashore's surf-fishing lots, and Lots 2 through 4 are the ones anglers favor because the sandbars and sloughs shift there. Whiting and pompano are the classic surf catches, with bluefish and Spanish mackerel in cool and warm runs, and redfish, black drum and sharks cruising the trough. Cast cut shrimp or sand fleas bought at a tackle shop on a pyramid-weighted rig, or throw spoons when bait is on the beach. The beach is undeveloped, with no lifeguards, so rip currents, heat and biting insects are the main hazards. An entrance fee applies, and the park's boardwalks here were being replaced in 2026, so check the current status before you drive in.
