Daytona Beach Main Street Pier Fishing

6.8· Pier · Holly Hill, FL

Free: No charge to fish the pier; metered parking nearby (checked Sep 27, 2026)

The Daytona Beach Main Street Pier is the city's historic ocean pier, running out from the boardwalk at the foot of Main Street, and fishing is allowed on its east end. Hurricanes Ian and Nicole damaged it in 2022; the city fixed or replaced more than 30 pilings and rebuilt parts of the deck, reopening the fishing section in 2023. The city says fishing is free and no fishing license is needed on the pier. Whiting, croaker and pompano work the surf troughs through the cooler months, bluefish and Spanish mackerel pass in spring and fall, and sheepshead and black drum hold on the pilings in winter. Fishing runs 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the warm months and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in winter, and the fishing section closes in rough seas until it has been inspected. Summer storms bring lightning.
