E 12th Avenue Beach Access, Daytona Beach Shores Fishing
6.0· Beach· Daytona Beach Shores, FL
This is a Volusia County beach access at the foot of E 12th Avenue in Daytona Beach Shores, on the long, hard-packed Atlantic beach that Daytona is known for. The county lists it among its off-beach parking locations, so you can park at the street end and walk down to the sand instead of driving on it. Surf anglers here chase whiting and pompano with sand fleas, frozen shrimp and small pieces of cut bait on a two-hook bottom rig, with bluefish, black drum, redfish and flounder as bonuses in the cooler months. Fish the first light and the hours around a rising tide, and look for troughs and sandbars at low water. Expect a daily parking fee, rip currents, beach traffic on the driving beach and swimmers in summer; keep clear of them.
