Menard-May Park, Edgewater Fishing

5.8· Pier· Edgewater, FL

Menard-May Park is a small City of Edgewater park on South Riverside Drive, on the Indian River and the north end of Mosquito Lagoon, with a playground, volleyball court, pavilion, grills, restrooms and a fishing pier. The old dock fell into disrepair after the 2022 hurricane season, and the city's FEMA-funded replacement was scheduled to be finished in April 2026, so check whether the new dock is open before you travel. When it is, this is a quiet light-tackle spot for spotted seatrout, redfish, black drum, sheepshead and mangrove snapper, fished with live shrimp on a moving breeze and a falling light. The lagoon barely moves with the tide, so wind, season and clear water matter most. The park is open sunrise to sunset. Watch for lightning, boat wakes and slick boards.
