River Breeze Park, Oak Hill Fishing

6.5· Pier · Oak Hill, FL

Free: Free entry (checked Sep 27, 2026)

River Breeze Park is a 35-acre Volusia County nature park on the Indian River at Oak Hill, and its fishing pier is the only place in the park where fishing is allowed. The pier reaches out over the shallow lagoon, where spotted seatrout, redfish and black drum are the main quarry for much of the year, with sheepshead around the pilings in the cooler months and ladyfish, jacks and mangrove snapper in the warm ones. This far from an inlet the lagoon has very little tide, so wind, water clarity and light matter more than the tide chart. The park is free and open around the clock, with a free boat launch, restrooms, a playground, a picnic pavilion and a nature trail. The shoreline is protected, so stay on the pier, and leave early when summer storms build.
