Blue Mountain Regional Beach Access Fishing

6.3· Beach · Walton County, FL

Free: No fee listed for this beach lot (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Blue Mountain Regional Beach Access is the public lot and walkway at the Gulf end of County Road 83 in Blue Mountain Beach, a Walton County access between Grayton Beach and Santa Rosa Beach with restrooms, a water fountain and seasonal lifeguards. The water in front of it is classic 30A surf: pompano and Gulf whiting slide through the first trough in spring and fall, reds patrol the outer bar when the mullet run in autumn, and Spanish mackerel, bluefish, ladyfish and jacks harry the bait through the warm months. Soak sand fleas or shrimp on a dropper rig for the bottom fish and keep a spoon handy for blitzes. The lifeguards work March through October, so anglers do best at sunrise and toward dark. County law forbids targeting sharks or chumming here; mind the rip currents, stingrays and afternoon storms.
