Miramar Beach Regional Beach Access Fishing

6.5· Beach · Destin, FL

Also called Miramar Park

Free: No entry fee; open dawn to dusk (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Miramar Beach Regional Beach Access, which Walton County lists as Miramar Park, is a big public beach on Scenic Gulf Drive at the west end of South Walton, with more than 200 parking spaces, restrooms, showers and three beach accesses onto over 1,100 feet of Gulf beach. The county lists fishing among its uses: pompano and Gulf whiting in the first trough in spring and fall, redfish on the bar, and Spanish mackerel, bluefish and ladyfish when bait crowds the beach. Fish a double-drop rig with sand fleas or shrimp on a moving tide in clean green water, and spoons when fish break. Entry is free from dawn to dusk, with lifeguards from March through October, so fish early or well away from swimmers. Watch for rip currents, stingrays and summer lightning, and remember the county bans shark fishing from the beach.
