Scenic Gulf Drive Regional Beach Access Fishing

6.4· Beach · Walton County, FL

Free: No fee listed; only 18 car spaces (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Scenic Gulf Drive Regional Beach Access is a Walton County public access built in 2022 on Scenic Gulf Drive in Miramar Beach, with an 18-car lot, golf cart and bike parking, restrooms, a picnic pavilion and an ADA boardwalk across the dunes to about 400 feet of Gulf beach. Local guide SoWal lists fishing among its uses, and the surf is the western end of South Walton's: pompano and Gulf whiting in the inner trough in spring and fall, redfish along the bar in the fall mullet run, and Spanish mackerel, bluefish and ladyfish around the bait in warm weather. Bottom rigs with sand fleas or shrimp and a fast spoon cover it. With so few spaces, come at first light or late in the day. Walton County bans shark fishing and chumming from the beach; rip currents, stingrays and lightning are the risks.
