Clermont Harbor Pier is a Hancock County pier off South Beach Boulevard at Clermont Harbor, between Lakeshore and Buccaneer State Park, running out from the beach road over the shallow Mississippi Sound. The county repaired it after Hurricane Zeta, reusing its original pilings, and in late 2023 renamed it the Lyonie "Jeep" Ladner Sr. Memorial Pier. It is a quiet spot with marsh and bayous behind the road and open Sound in front. Expect speckled trout, white trout and croaker from spring into fall, redfish and flounder as the water cools, and sheepshead and black drum near the pilings in winter. Fish live shrimp under a cork or on a light bottom rig on moving water, and favor calm mornings when the water is clearest. The county posts no fishing details for the pier, so read the signs, watch the road traffic and leave when storms build.
