Garfield Ladner Memorial Pier Fishing
Pier· Waveland, MS
Closed to fishing
Closed since Hurricane Zeta damaged it in 2020. Waveland began rebuilding it in February 2026 and expected the work to finish in fall 2026; check with the city that it has reopened before you go.
The Garfield Ladner Memorial Pier, Waveland's city pier at the foot of Coleman Avenue, is closed. Hurricane Zeta washed out and undermined it in 2020, and the City of Waveland began rebuilding it with pre-stressed concrete in February 2026. The city expected the work to finish in the fall of 2026, but had announced no reopening by mid-October. Before the storm it was one of the things people came to Waveland for, a lighted pier with pavilions where locals caught white trout and redfish over the shallow Mississippi Sound. Until it reopens, fish the Washington Street Pier or the Jimmy Rutherford Fishing Pier in Bay St. Louis, or wade the beach in front of Buccaneer State Park. Check with the city before you go, and do not cross the construction fencing.
