Popp's Ferry Causeway Park Fishing

7.1· Backwater· Biloxi, MS

Popp's Ferry Causeway Park is a City of Biloxi waterfront park on the old causeway beside the Popp's Ferry Bridge, out in the brackish middle of the Back Bay of Biloxi. It opened in 2018 with a waterfront boardwalk, marsh overwalks, covered fishing kiosks, railed walkways and pavilions, and after storm damage in 2020 the city rebuilt its 152-foot fishing pier, its overlook fishing pier and the boat-ramp finger piers in a project begun in late 2025. Local anglers drive in from as far as Saucier to fish it. Speckled trout and redfish are the main draw, with flounder, black drum, sheepshead, white trout and croaker in season. Fish shrimp under a cork along the marsh edges and the bridge, and crab or shrimp on the bottom for drum. Wind and river flow move this water more than the tide. The park opens at 5 a.m. and closes late in the evening.
