Percy Miller Marine Education Park is a small public launch park on the upper reaches of Old Fort Bayou, at the north end of Bristol Boulevard on the east side of Ocean Springs. A railed boardwalk runs along the bayou edge of its parking lot to a covered pavilion, with a boat ramp, a fish cleaning station and lights, and it is a stop on the Old Fort Bayou Blueway paddling trail. This far up, the water is brackish and swings with rainfall: in dry spells and through the fall, speckled trout, redfish and flounder work the marsh bends, croaker, black drum and catfish take baits on the bottom, and after heavy rain bass and bream move in. A live shrimp under a cork on a moving tide is the standard approach. Parking is limited and shared with boat trailers, and summer storms build fast.
