The Launch at CR 6, Bon Secour River Fishing

5.9· Backwater· Bon Secour, AL

Free: No charge for the park or to launch (checked Oct 17, 2026)

The Launch at CR 6 is a Baldwin County park at 5587 County Road 6, Gulf Shores, on the lower Bon Secour River across from Bon Secour village, and the river's first and only public boat launch. Alongside two ramps and a kayak launch it has two fishing piers, gazebos, restrooms and a walking trail, all free. The river is brackish and its catch shifts with rain and river flow: speckled trout, redfish and flounder move up from Bon Secour Bay when the water is salty, with white trout, croakers, black drum and catfish on the bottom, while freshwater fish such as bass and bream come down after heavy rain. Fish a moving tide with live shrimp or minnows. Park activities run dawn to dusk, though launching is allowed at any hour; boat traffic is the main thing to watch.
