Bob Sikes Fishing Pier

7.1· Bridge · Gulf Breeze, FL

Bob Sikes Fishing Pier is the southern section of the old Bob Sikes Bridge, left standing beside Pensacola Beach Boulevard as a walk-on fishing bridge over Santa Rosa Sound, east of Pensacola Pass. Its pilings and the channel beside it hold sheepshead, redfish, speckled trout, flounder and black drum through the year, with Spanish mackerel, bluefish and ladyfish on the surface from spring to fall. Fish a moving tide: bottom baits along the pilings, jigs and spoons across the current, and a light at night in summer. Parking is at the Pensacola Beach end. The last spans are fenced off with structural damage, and Escambia County is taking construction bids in fall 2026 to rehabilitate the pier, so parts of it will close while the work runs. Watch for lightning, sharp barnacles, and hooks swinging on a crowded rail.
