Bay Drive Park, Palm Coast Fishing
6.2· Beach· Marineland, FL
Bay Drive Park is a Flagler County park at the end of Bay Drive off A1A in the Hammock, with a raised observation pavilion, dune walkovers to the Atlantic beach, restrooms and a trail. The county lists fishing and a fishing dock among its features, and the quiet, uncrowded beach below the walkovers is where surf anglers will spend their time. Expect whiting, pompano and bluefish in the surf through spring and fall, with redfish, black drum and sharks coming along the sand in the cooler months. Sand fleas, shrimp and cut bait on a pyramid-weight surf rig do the work, and the hour either side of high tide is best. The park is small, so arrive early for parking. Watch for rip currents, lightning and sun. The county does not say which water the fishing dock sits on, so read the signs.
