Bings Landing, Matanzas River Fishing

7.0· Backwater · Marineland, FL

Bings Landing is a Flagler County park on the Matanzas River (the Intracoastal Waterway) in the Hammock area of Palm Coast, with a fishing pier, a boat launch and shady oak hammock. It is a relaxed spot for redfish, flounder, spotted seatrout and black drum, sheepshead around the pilings in the cooler months, mangrove snapper at night, and snook, tarpon, ladyfish and jacks in summer. Moving water on either tide stage is the key; the pier gives access to the channel edge. The park is open from dawn to 11 p.m., and there are restrooms and a restaurant. Mind the boat ramp traffic, and watch for summer lightning.
