Wadsworth Park, Flagler Beach Fishing
5.3· Backwater· Flagler Beach, FL
Wadsworth Park is a 45-acre Flagler County park on Moody Boulevard west of Flagler Beach, best known for its ball fields and courts, but its elevated boardwalk and canoe launch reach the edge of the salt marsh that drains to the Intracoastal Waterway. The county lists fishing among the park's features without saying where, so this is a quiet, low-pressure bank and dock spot rather than a famous one. Expect small redfish, seatrout, flounder, sheepshead and mullet when the creek has moving water, with crabs and pinfish stealing bait between bites. The park is open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Watch for mud, mosquitoes and biting insects at dusk, and read the signs.
