Fee to fish: State park entrance fee per vehicle (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Dr. Julian G. Bruce St. George Island State Park protects the undeveloped eastern end of St. George Island, with miles of Gulf beach on one side and Apalachicola Bay on the other. Surf anglers catch pompano, Gulf whiting, redfish and Spanish mackerel, while the bay shore holds speckled trout, redfish and flounder over grass and sand. Fish the moving tide at dawn and dusk with sand fleas, shrimp, soft plastics and small spoons. The park is open from 8 a.m. to sundown and charges an entrance fee, with beach boardwalks and restrooms in the day-use areas. It is remote and exposed, so bring shade and water. Watch for rip currents, stingrays, lightning and strong sun.
