White City Park and Boat Ramp Fishing

5.4· Backwater· Gulf County, FL

White City Park is a Gulf County park and boat ramp on Searcy Creek, where it meets the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway north of Port St. Joe. The county tourism office lists bank fishing and dock access here, and the water is the same tidal system as the Gulf County Canal, where anglers report redfish, flounder, sheepshead, black drum and trout. This is a quiet backwater spot rather than a pier: you fish the bank or the docks with live shrimp or a soft plastic. Salinity changes with rain and the tide, because freshwater from the river swamps flows into this reach, so catches vary with the season. Expect boat traffic at the ramp, mosquitoes and summer lightning.
