WindMark South Beach Access, St. Joe Beach Fishing

5.6· Beach· Port St. Joe, FL

WindMark South Beach Access is a public walk-on entrance to the Gulf beach in the WindMark Beach area between Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach, reached from Flat Water Street off Highway 98. Gulf County's tourism site lists a North and a South access here, with parking and restrooms at the entrances, and it opens onto the Gulf shore along St. Joe Beach. Anglers working the nearby Gulf beaches target whiting, pompano and redfish in the surf, with bottom rigs and sand fleas or shrimp. Expect the best action in spring and fall, a few Spanish mackerel and bluefish passing in cooler months, and plenty of catfish and small sharks on cut bait. The county page does not mention fishing here, so read the posted signs. Rip currents and summer lightning are the main hazards.
