Bradenton Riverwalk Fishing

6.1· Pier · Bradenton, FL

Free: No fee to use the Riverwalk or its pier (checked Sep 27, 2026)

The Bradenton Riverwalk is the city's 2.03-mile waterfront park along the south bank of the Manatee River between the Green and DeSoto bridges, and the city lists fishing among its activities. This spot is the short T-shaped pier at Rossi Park, east of the railroad bridge, which reaches brackish river water where snook, redfish and spotted seatrout feed, sheepshead and black drum hold on structure in winter, and jacks, ladyfish and the odd tarpon roam in summer. Fish a moving tide with live shrimp on the bottom or under a cork, or cast soft plastics along the shadow lines early and late. City code gives the Riverwalk no closing hours. The ferry dock the city named the Bradenton Riverwalk Pier is a separate structure west of the railroad bridge. After heavy rain the river runs fresh and dark, so fishing slows.
