Harry Harris Park Fishing

Harry Harris Park is Monroe County's 21-acre oceanfront park at the end of East Beach Road in Tavernier, with a boat ramp, a protected swimming lagoon behind a man-made rock barrier, and a fishing jetty at the edge of the park. It is one of the few places in the Upper Keys where a family can fish open Atlantic water from land with restrooms and picnic tables nearby. Snapper, grunts and small reef fish bite around the rocks all year, barracuda and jacks cruise the edge, and bonefish sometimes feed on the flats beside the park. Fish the moving tide early in the day. Non-residents pay a vehicle fee on weekends and holidays, and the park is open from sunrise to half an hour after sunset. Mind the boat ramp traffic, slippery rocks and sun.
