Clearwater Harbor Marina Fishing Pier

6.7· Pier· Clearwater, FL

The city of Clearwater advertises a free fishing pier at the north end of Clearwater Harbor Marina, tucked beside Coachman Park and the Memorial Causeway bridge in the heart of downtown. It looks out on Clearwater Harbor, the sheltered Intracoastal water behind the barrier islands, where the pilings of the marina and the bridge hold sheepshead and snapper in cool months and snook, trout and jacks the rest of the year. Fish a moving tide with live shrimp or small baits under a cork, and bring a landing net because the deck sits a few feet above the water. The water is salty to brackish and the catch shifts with heavy rain. Parking nearby is mostly paid downtown lots, so read the signs. Boat wakes and busy bridge traffic are the main hazards.
