Fee to fish: Paid pass required to fish, sold at the bait house (checked Sep 27, 2026)

Pier 60 is Clearwater Beach's landmark pier, a concrete T-headed pier about a thousand feet long in the heart of the beach. Pay at the bait house where the fishing section starts, fish the inner part over the troughs for whiting, pompano and snook, or walk to the T for Spanish mackerel, mangrove snapper and passing kingfish and tarpon. Mornings on a moving tide with clean water are best, and summer brings snook right along the beach. Hurricanes Helene and Milton closed the fishing section for almost a year; it reopened, from the bait house to the T, on September 1, 2025, after temporary repairs. It is busy and family-friendly, but crowded on sunny afternoons and exposed to summer lightning.
