Weaver Park, Dunedin Fishing
5.9· Seawall· Dunedin, FL
Weaver Park is a City of Dunedin waterfront park on St. Joseph Sound beside Alternate 19, on the Pinellas Trail, with picnic pavilions, a playground, restrooms and a fishing pier. The pier is closed for now, but the park stays open and people still fish from its shoreline and seawall. Fish live shrimp under a cork or a small jig along the edge for seatrout, redfish, sheepshead and ladyfish, with snook and mangrove snapper in the warm months. The water is shallow and grassy, and clear on a calm morning. The park is open sunrise to sunset. Watch for stingrays and horseshoe crabs at the water's edge, and carry sun protection; shade is limited at the shore.
