Lot 1A Beach Access, Navarre Beach Fishing

5.6· Beach· Navarre, FL

Lot 1A, at South Carolina Street and signed as Public Beach Access 37A, is the last county beach access at the western end of Navarre Beach, with a small lot of roughly twenty spaces, a dune walkover and a trash can but no restrooms. It is a plain Gulf surf spot, far from the crowds around the pier, where anglers cast sand flea rigs for pompano and whiting and bait rods for redfish along the trough behind the first sandbar. Spring and fall bring the best pompano and Spanish mackerel runs, summer is whiting and ladyfish, and winter is quiet. Santa Rosa County does not list fishing here, so read the posted signs. Rip currents, summer storms and sun are the main hazards; bring water, bait and a cart for the walk.
